This policy explains what happens to data when you visit GreekAlphabet.net. The short version: we don't ask you for personal information, there are no accounts, and nothing you type into the quiz, flashcards, or generator ever leaves your browser. The only data collection on this site comes from two Google services — Google Analytics and Google AdSense — described in detail below.

Information we collect directly

None. The site has no sign-up, no login, no newsletter, no contact form, and no comment section. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying detail, and we have no database of visitors.

Interactive tools on the site — the quiz, flashcards, comparison tool, copy-paste tool, and transliterator — run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your answers, scores, and any text you enter are never transmitted to our server or stored anywhere.

Information collected automatically by third parties

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people find the site. It sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, the approximate time spent on each, your general geographic region (typically city or country level, derived from a truncated IP address), your device type, browser, screen size, and the referring site or search engine that sent you here.

This data is aggregated. We use it to decide which topics to expand and which pages need fixing — not to identify individual visitors, which we have no way of doing.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your activity entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

Our pages link to outside resources such as Wikipedia, university pages, the Unicode Consortium, and Google's own policy pages. Once you follow such a link, this policy no longer applies. We have no control over the privacy practices of other websites and encourage you to read their policies.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience educational reference, and some pages — such as our guide for kids — may be read by or alongside children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13, and we have no mechanism that would allow a child to submit personal information to us. If you believe a child's personal information has somehow reached us, please contact us and we will investigate and delete it.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on request. Rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA — access, correction, deletion, portability, and objecting to sale or sharing — apply to the third-party services described above rather than to us. If we change how the site handles data — adding a new analytics tool, for instance, or removing advertising — we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted plainly rather than buried.
